The "Transdiaspora"™ paradigm makes transverse and horizontal connections between minority communities as well as from majoritarian populations. By taking a multi-diasporic and multi-ethnic approach, Transdiaspora exhibits emphasize continuities across multiple ethnic groups. Transdiaspora exhibits also engage with deterritorialized diasporas such as Queer diasporas to include artists from the majoritarian populations of non-traditional diasporic and exilic locations. Transdiaspora exhibits thus enable and facilitate an inter-diasporic, hybridic dialog among artists of all communities.

Founded by Pritika Chowdhry, the "Transdiaspora Project" is an on-going series of art exhibits and related publications, that bring together artists from all communities in innovative exhibition formats. On this website, you will find exhibition archives and catalogs of the Transdiaspora exhibits. The 2007 Transdiaspora exhibit was titled "Visceral Mappings: Transdiasporic Art Practices”. The exhibit catalog is now available on Amazon.com
